  8. Windows 9x and NT systems allow a convenient storage of frequently 
  9. used passwords, such as the password of your dial-in ISP or FTP connection. 
  10. However, since you no longer enter the saved password manually, you tend to 
  11. forget them. What are you to do when you need to know one of the saved passwords ? 
  12. The password is staring right at you, but is hiding behind a row of
  13. "*****" asterisks. This nifty utility allows you to reclaim your password:  
  14. Activate the utility, drag the 123 mouse cursor on the password field 
  15. and your password is revealed instantly in the display of 123.

  17. Limitations: This utility works well with most password screens you will
  18. encounter on a MS Windows system, such as the password fields on the 
  19. ISP dial-up dialog, within CuteFTP or Outlook Express. However, it does not 
  20. work with applications that do not actually store the password "behind" 
  21. the asterisks e. g. the Windows NT User Manager. The standard password recovery
  22. works on Win 95, 98, ME and Windows NT, but not Windows 2000. The WEB password 
  23. recovery is designed for use with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 (or better)
  24. and works on all Windows platforms, including Win 2000.

  27.  HOW DOES IT WORK ? :

  30. 123 Password Recovery is extremely easy to use: 
  31.  
  32. 1. Click with your LEFT mouse button on the "KEY" ICON -> 
  33. 2. Your mouse cursor is changed to a "KEY" cursor -> 
  34. 3. Now, KEEP THE LEFT MOUSE BUTTON PRESSED DOWN and move the mouse to
  35.    the window that contains the password field ("*****") you want to read
  36. 4. Once the cursor is on the right spot in the window that contains the
  37.    "*****" password field(s), the 123 password control removes (!) the 
  38.    asteriks or (in case of WEB passwords) displays the password in a
  39.    dialog box.
  40. 5. For your convenience, the password stays on the screen 
  41.    until you left-mouseclick on the "KEY" icon again.

  45. The software comes with a complete Install / Uninstall program. This will install
  46. the following files on your system:

  48.    123pwd.exe   |  the password recovery utility 
  49.    readme.txt     |  this file !
  50.    license.txt    |  the software license

  54. For a manuall install (e. g. on a second PC) it is sufficient to copy only 
  55. 007pwd.exe to any directory of your choice ! Double-click on 007pwd.exe to
  56. start the software.
